Steven Pond's last traditional theater show was over a decade ago, and since then he's done nothing but bathe in the Grassroots kool-aid. The actual number of Grassroots shows that Steven has done has long been lost to the sands of time - at last count it was around 50 - including roles like Caliban, Prince Hal, Touchstone, Macbeth, Malvolio, Mercutio, and even - that's right - the ever-present Messenger.
When he's not eating, drinking, and breathing Shakespeare, Steve can be found obsessively researching Brandon Sanderson for his YouTube channel

It’s been two years since Seven Harrison did the Grassroots Educational Tour and he is thrilled to return. Since the day he existed, Seven always wanted to tell stories. It wasn’t until he was fifteen that he realized acting was his calling. One of his first times he saw Grassroots was in their education tour at his high school and dreamed of acting with Grassroots Shakespeare. More than happy with where his path has lead him, he has worked on many projects outside of Grassroots too, including Netflix’s “Murder Among The Mormons” (directed by Jared Hess), Machinal and The 39 Steps, (UVU productions) and some commercial work as well. He hopes to inspire kids through the work of Shakespeare the way Grassroots did for him five years ago.
You might have seen Alyssa perform in five other Grassroots Shakespeare shows in the past, bringing you such characters as Cloten from Cymbeline, Claudio from Much Ado About Nothing, and Mistress Page from The Merry Wives of Windsor. This is her first performance of Romeo & Juliet which is another point towards her goal of performing in every one of Shakespeare's plays at least once. Eleven down, only twenty-three to go.
Alyx Vaughn is a local actress, vocalist, and fight choreographer whose credits include roles with the Kingswood Players, and the Hale Centre Theatre in Sandy. While this is her first Ed Tour, she's enjoyed performing with the Grassroots Shakespeare Company for the last two years, and has held a position as a board member since Fall of 2022. Recent roles with the company include (but are not limited to) Banquo in "Macbeth", Antonio in "The Tempest", Tybalt and Friar Lawrence in "Romeo and Juliet", and Posthumus Leonatus in "Cymbeline". Her further work as the company's fight choreographer has been an incredible opportunity to build her resume as she works towards her SAFD certification.
Gary first joined The Grassroots Shakespeare Company in the Spring of 2014 entirely on accident. He came to see 'As You Like It' at Rock Canyon Park in Provo-- initially as an excuse to escape a tawdry affair-- and was mesmerized. After receiving a polite invitation to come play guitar with Robert Starks for the next days show in Salt Lake City, he surprised his pal by actually doing just that. Gary improvised everything he played for his first show,-- which he had not seen-- Henry V. he has since maintained a philosophy of playing in such a way that the musician is reacting to the show like a character on-stage, much like we encourage the audience to do. Since Henry V Gary has played for over 52 Grassroots productions totaling hundreds of shows.
Gary joined the Educational Tour in 2015 and has done music for Pericles in 2015, Merchant of Venice in 2017, Romeo & Juliet in 2019, Macbeth in 2020, Romeo & Juliet in 2022 and Hamlet and Twelfth Night in 2023. Gary became the Educational Tour Manager in 2023 and would like to thank Sharah Meservy, the previous Educational Tour Manager, for showing him the ropes!
